Why we still ship boring stacks in 2026

Every year there's a new framework that promises to make the old one obsolete. We've mostly stopped paying attention. Here's why.
Boring stacks have one superpower: they keep working. The bugs are known, the docs are honest, and the StackOverflow answers are still relevant five years later.
For client work especially, that matters. We're not optimizing for the resume of the engineer writing the code — we're optimizing for the team that has to keep the lights on in year three.
